DAVE NOLAN GETS COVER OF CONCRETE! |

| Congrats to Element Canada's Dave Nolan who graces the cover of the new Concrete Mag, Photo Issue. It's shot by Jay Bridges who recounts “This place is known as the Scuttle Holes, north of Belleville, Ontario. It’s a giant hole in the ground that leads to a cave, which leads to the Moira River. It’s kinda scary ‘cause if you to walk down the trail at night you might fall into the hole and die. Dave Nolan almost fell into it trying that 360 flip because the plywood runway was super sketchy and set on a downhill. There was also a bat in the cave when I got there to set-up, but I threw a rock and it bounced.” |

The music is described as " a blast of psychadelia-tinged garage rock" has hit the #2 most added on college radio charts this past week. Willowz band member Loren Humphrey is the man behind the original music found in MAKE IT COUNT, The Element Story.

NEW JANNE SAARIO PLAZA PARK GRANI OPENS |

Element Europe Advocate and manual master Janne Saario has opened another plaza park he designed. With an education in Architecture, Janne has used his skills to design skate parks that work with existing landscape. In this case an old strip mall was torn down, materials composted and rearranged to a near park to serve as a skatepark called "GRANI." The park consists of white concrete sidewalk, recycled light poles, curbs and stone garden for urban meditation.

| After appearing in two number one movies in 2009, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and The Hangover, Mike V is once again going Hollywood as he scored a role in the remake of the 80's blockbuster "Red Dawn." Mike plays an arms dealer in the film and also evades explosions and gun fire while doing stunt work as a Russian Soldier in the film due out a year from now in November of 2010. He had to cut off his long hair and beard for the role, which was "time to hit the reset button anyway, the movie role just gave me a good excuse to get a haircut." See Mike's fresh cut over at Shred Or Die, his 4 part Free Lunch is now playing. |

This past Saturday Bucky hosted a BBQ and jam at his house to celebrate the completion of his 14ft concrete bowl. It was an invite only event and some of skateboardings greatest came out for the event. Hawk, Hosoi, Burnquist, Rune, Zach and Chris Miller...just to name a few. On Sat. September 26th, Element, Beachworks and Elemental Awareness teamed up for a skate contest, pro demo and team signing at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. Tons of kids came out to rip the best trick contest before the pros took the course. Riders in attendance included Mike V., Darrell Stanton, Chad Tim Tim, Tony Tave, Levi Brown, Nick Garcia, Lacey Baker and many more. There were tons of activities provided in the festival style skate event. Kids could make a skateboard with Paul Schmitt, Tie Dye a tee shirt, hold live animals, and taste organic produce. | Turin, Italy played host to the first European Vans Downtown Showdown, and with only 4 members (Phil Zwijsen, Madars Apse, Michael Mackrodt and team manager Christian Vankelst), Element Europe took 1st place! Phil Zwijsen was awarded 1st ‘Best Am’, while Madas Apse came 2nd for best trick on the Cliche obstacle. Ray Barbee was on hand to present the team with the 15,000 euro prize money and in turn the team decided to award their own prize (that being 5000 euros of their money) to the Trap team who had killed the skatepark all day and deserved to share in the glory. | Coastal Edge welcomed Element to participate in this years East Coast Surfing Championships held in Virginia Beach, VA. Thousands of people came out to see the surf competition and skate vert demos. Element Riders Bucky Lasek, Zach Miller and Neil Hendrix killed it on the vert ramp all weekend. EVENTS - Element presents 'Giving Back' |

Element partnering with Terrakota and Boards N Stuff presented 'Giving Back' on International Go Skate Day in Singapore on the 24th June at Somerset Skatepark to resounding success. Along with all the fun and dizzying tricks that were thrown on the day, a lot of love went out to the public from Element and the others involved. Our very own Chad, was onsite to oversee the event and was also dishing out tasteful tunes to the crowd! After the event both young & old got together at Blu Jazz cafe to celebrate skate, love and BEER. ESPN was on hand to capture this event so check it out in full here.

| On Monday May 18th, Elemental Awareness visited the Salvation Army afterschool skate program on S. Central Ave in LA to paint skateboards with the kids. EA provided the skateboards and the kids provided the creativity and unique designs. | Check out the photos from the Element Flatbar-B-QUE held at Skatebase in Brisbane. Heaps of amped, ready to skate kids came along to roll with Jack Fardell and the Skatebase team. The funbox and flatbar got sessioned till nightfall and a gang of prizes were thrown from the Subaru Forester. | The Hoon Run thing is a beast to say the least. Andrew Currie grabs a few car loads of his closest mates and they all hit the road. It's become a thing of skateboarding legends, the rawest of the skater's skater only. Corbin is pretty much always on these things, check out the gnarly clip that he sent us documenting the last Hoon Run. These guys are no joke, skating harder than most, and quite obviously loving life! Take a second to rewind Corbin's backside air into the cradle at the end! |

Ben, age 17 is a haemophiliac, he loves skateboarding but can't risk injury with his condition, so with the help of the Starlight Foundation, in the Bin Film Festival and Element Skateboards we've helped Ben get his wish to film some pro skaters and work on his own skate video. On Feb. 15-20th, Elemental Awareness attended Wintercount in the Desert outside of Phoenix, AZ. Wintercount is one of the largest Wilderness Skills conferences in the Western US. Wilderness guides and Nature enthusiasts from all over the States come to this gathering to learn and trade skills. Element Team rider Levi Brown and the EA crew were there practicing their skills and creating skate obstacles from the desert landscape.

Back before the Xmas break we had a great little event in Victoria called Pick up the Parks. The basic nature of the event was to get together, have a skate and clean up the skatepark. On Saturday, December 20, 2008 the Elemental Awareness National Contest Series made a stop in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada at Winchester Skatepark. Following a week of record-breaking snow, skaters were relieved to see the skies clear just in time for this long awaited event. Chipotle showed up in support with delicious free burritos for everyone in attendance. DJ Vicuu kept spirits high with great music all day, and the level of skating was as good as anyone's seen at Winchester Skatepark in a long time. Rising star Joey Esteban took home "best trick" with a wicked kick flip transfer over the ledge and across the pyramid, but local ripper Josh Baldwin carried the day, and won a full scholarship to Element YMCA Skate Camp and a place in the Series Finals. | On Dec. 13th Elemental Awareness held the 4th contest in the National Series at MIA's park in Miami, FL. Entry fee for the contest was a canned food item to be donated to local food banks for the holidays. Guest judges included element flow riders Mat Fink, George Evans and park co-owner and Habitat team rider, Ed Selego. The level of skating was at an all time high with the overall winner, John Landi receiving a full scholarship to Element YMCA Skatecamp and an invitation to the finals. On Thurs. Dec. 11th, Elemental Awareness held a game of SKATE in Downtown Yorba Linda in conjunction with the City's Holiday Festival. Hundreds of skaters from the area came out to skate and watch the action go down. In the end it was Mark Barnett who SKATEd his way into the top spot taking home a handful of prizes and the respect of the crowd. Thanks go out to Mike the Barber for setting the whole event up.

| The biggest Am skate contest of the year went down this last weekend, and Lacey Baker became the first girl in Tampa Am history to make it to the semi's, congrats! "Girls don't get judged any different in any of our events, especially Tampa Am. That could be why there has never been a girl that made the cut to Sunday in Tampa. Lacey Baker changed that today. She killed it - noseslide back 270 out down the hubba, hard flipped the stairs, 360 flip the hip, and more." Results here. |

AZ INDUSTRIAL EVENT |

On Sat. November 22nd Elemental Awareness headed out to Peoria, AZ to throw down a series of Best Trick contests. Element Team riders Chad Tim Tim, Tony Tave, Levi Brown, Collin Provost and Tony Carr were on hand to skate and judge the contest. Free Chipotle Burritos and Sambazon Acai were given out to the large crowd at the Skatepark. Skaters brought canned food items to be donated to the homeless for the holidays. In the end, it was James Schwartz who won the grand prize of a week up in the beautiful Sequoias at Element YMCA Skate Camp. Thanks to Industrial Ride Shop for making the event a success. The first stop on the Elemental Awareness National Contest Series went down this last weekend in Chula Vista, Ca. Skaters from all over the Greater San Diego area came out to compete for a scholarship to Element YMCA Skate Camp and a spot in the Series Finals. Everyone who came out for the event received goodies from Chipotle Mexican Grill and Sambazon Acai. | Tuesday November 11th saw Element Skateboards open the doors of their global office to a select group of kids for a "behind the scenes" tour. Kids in attendance represented the Navajo, Hopi, Pima, and Cherokee Indian Tribes. The group used the tour as an opportunity to learn how skateboards, shoes and clothes are designed and meet the people responsible for creating these products. They also realized that the message behind Elemental Awareness is similar to their own culture's respect for the natural world. Click here to see photos from this tour. |

Parkway Drive has added a fourth Melbourne show at Billboard to their upcoming December tour.
The additional 18+ show will be held on Sunday Dec 21. Tickets for the new show will be on sale Wed Nov 12 from Billboard Online, Moshtix outlets and Ticketek 132 849.
Parkway is currently in Europe headlining the Never Say Die Tour, seeing them play their biggest European shows to date with several shows already sold out. |

| This past weekend, Elemental Awareness teamed up with a few other skate brands to support the Hood Games in Downtown LA and Oakland, CA. Kids in attendance had the opportunity to skate obstacles from the Summer X-Games with some of their favorite pros including P-Rod, Karl Watson, Chris Haslam, Cooper Wilt and Walker Ryan. action figure - and Beck's even ended up on the JUXTAPOZ site as an example of how clever and insightful they can be done. Element sponsored a recent event at Blindside skate shop in Orem, UT. No parking lot, clear out the shop! When we can't bring the team out, we always trying to support the local scenes and this event was great. The winner took home an Element Flat Bar, check out some photos from the event!
