Holdin it Down in the Desert |

| Elemental Awareness just returned from “Winter Count” the annual wilderness survival skills gathering in the deserts of Arizona. E.A. put on a fire race with a bow drill and hand drill division, an archery tournament , and a rootsy skate contest. The skate contest was held on a single piece of plywood, under a tarp to shield us from the rain and illuminated by lanterns. The mini contest included most kickflips out of ten and a flat ground best trick contest. The magic of Elemental Awareness truly expressed itself in the middle of the desert working with and inspiring so many awesome kids though skateboarding and primitive skills. |

| Mike Vallely,Terry Kennedy and Collin Provost were on hand to skate and cheer on those at the 'Bump Ramp Blast' Elemental Awareness contest on Saturday. The sun came out just in time to give the skaters of Watts dry and warm conditions throughout the afternoon. 'Primo' caught big frontside flips,PJ backed him up and Andrew took first prize. Props to Imani at the WLCAC and all that skated and took part in this event. |
