Elemental Awareness put on a game of S.K.A.T.E. for the skaters in Watts today. All the local rippers came out and competed for scholarships to Element YMCA Skate Camp, Element boards and more. The event was started off with everyone getting warmed up in classic LA fashion skating a bump to table. New to the crew of skaters was Carl Romero who killed it all afternoon. Alex Ramirez put down a nice kickflip and this stalefish was another nice one that went down. The competition was heavy from the start and ultimately widdled down to a three way battle between Carl, Andrew Caro and PJ Harris. PJ has been a heavy in the Watts scene since we started putting on events about 5 years ago, and re-claimed his title today rarely missing a trick out of his technical bag on the box and flat. Thanks to everyone that came out and kicked off the summer in a great way!

Tosh Townend joined Elemental Awareness Tuesday for a visit to Point Dune Marine Sciences school in Malibu, CA. Tosh gave a nice insight into his background, put on a couple great little demos, fielded questions and signed autographs for the 250 elementary students. Elemental Awareness handled the other portion of the assembly with a unique nature skills demonstration. Thanks to Chi, Regan, Kelly and all the kids at Point Dune for the invite!

Elemental Awareness is heading back to the thriving skate community of Watts, CA this Saturday. The event will be a game of S.K.A.T.E. with two lucky skaters winning scholarships to Element YMCA Skate Camp. Click here to check out the flyer.

Levi talks about Tom Brown Tracker School, Element YMCA Skate Camp and his involvement with EA over 8 pages of goodness. All photos were shot by another EA family member, Matt Price, who landed his first of many covers! We’re not sure if he’s more excited about the cover or the fact that Suski is wearing a bright orange shirt reminiscent of his prized Phoenix Suns, either way he’s hyped and so are we.
